These terms describe the Thor Android application (“Thor” or “the app”) and its optional support subscription. Thor is developed and maintained by Trinadh Thatakula, an independent developer (“the developer”). Read these terms before using the app or starting a subscription. The Privacy Policy explains how the app and this website handle information.

1. Thor’s purpose and licence

Thor is an Android app manager for inspecting and managing installed applications. It provides tools for installation, app management, backup, and other device operations, with advanced actions depending on the permissions and privileges available on your device.

Thor’s source code is free software licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 3 or any later version (GPL-3.0-or-later). You may use, study, modify, and redistribute it in accordance with that licence. The source code and licence text are publicly available. Third-party components retain their respective licences.

These terms do not replace the GPL or impose additional restrictions on the rights it grants. If these terms conflict with the GPL concerning the licensed software, the GPL governs.

2. Free functionality and feature availability

All Thor features are available free of charge. There is no paid feature tier, trial that expires, or subscription requirement for app functionality. The Google Play and FOSS builds provide the same app-management functionality; the Google Play build additionally offers the optional support subscription through Google Play Billing.

An operation may require a compatible Android version, hardware, permissions, root access, Shizuku, or Dhizuku. These are technical requirements, and payment does not remove them. Availability and behaviour can change with Android, device manufacturers, or third-party services.

3. Optional Google Play support subscription

The Google Play build offers a voluntary, recurring subscription to financially support Thor’s development and maintenance. You choose whether to subscribe and which available support amount to pay.

Support levels represent different contribution amounts. Payment does not purchase a particular future feature, a delivery date, or a guaranteed support response time. This is a support subscription, and no charitable or tax-deductible status is represented.

4. Subscription billing, renewal, and cancellation

Google Play processes subscription payments using your Google account and payment method. The purchase screen shows the applicable price, currency, billing period, taxes, and any offer conditions before you confirm. Your Google Play receipt and subscription settings record the terms of your purchase.

A recurring subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Google Play charges the applicable subscription price for each renewal. Any price changes, notices, or requests for consent are handled through Google Play under its rules and applicable law.

You can cancel renewal at any time:

  1. Open Google Play using the Google account that purchased the subscription.
  2. Go to Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions and select Thor.
  3. Choose Cancel subscription and complete Google’s confirmation steps.

You can also use Google Play’s subscription management page. Cancel before the next renewal to prevent the next recurring charge. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the already paid billing period. Uninstalling Thor or switching to the FOSS build does not cancel a subscription.

Cancellation stops future renewals; it does not automatically refund an earlier payment. Thor’s free functionality remains available throughout and after cancellation. See Google’s cancellation instructions for help managing your subscription.

5. Refunds through Google Play

For a subscription purchased through Google Play, start with Google Play’s refund request process. Eligibility and processing depend on Google’s refund policies, the transaction, your location, and applicable consumer law. A refund is not guaranteed solely because you cancelled or stopped using Thor.

If Google directs you to the developer, or you need help with a purchase complaint, contact the developer with your Google Play order ID and a description of the issue. The developer can review the request and, where appropriate or legally required, arrange a refund through Google Play. Approved refunds are processed through Google’s payment system. Nothing in these terms limits mandatory refund, withdrawal, or other consumer rights, including those applicable in the EEA and the UK.

6. Shizuku, Dhizuku, and root operations

Thor can perform powerful device operations through Shizuku, Dhizuku, or root access when you enable and authorise them. Their capabilities differ, and Thor cannot guarantee that an operation will work on every device or Android version.

Changing system packages, permissions, components, or device settings can disrupt apps and essential services. Clearing data, uninstalling packages, restoring backups, or flashing a kernel can cause permanent data loss, security problems, boot failure, or an unusable device. Some actions cannot be reversed from within Thor.

Use these tools only on devices you own or are authorised to manage. Understand the action, read the in-app warnings, and keep suitable backups and recovery options before proceeding. You choose which privileges to grant and which operations to run. Safety checks reduce risk but do not guarantee a safe outcome. This explanation does not waive rights or remedies that applicable law gives you.

7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Thor is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability, or error-free operation. The GPL also sets out warranty and liability terms for the licensed software.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the developer and contributors are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, loss of data, or device or software damage arising from the use of, or inability to use, Thor, including privileged operations.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Mandatory consumer guarantees and statutory remedies remain in effect.

8. Third-party services and Google Play Billing

Google Play and Google Play Billing are operated by Google. Purchases, payment processing, subscription management, and the Google account are also subject to the applicable Google Play Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy. Thor does not receive your full payment-card details. The Privacy Policy describes the app’s billing integration.

Shizuku, Dhizuku, root-management tools, distribution platforms, and extension providers are separate projects or services with their own terms and licences. Their availability and behaviour are outside the developer’s control. Review the Extensions policy before installing an extension. Other support platforms linked from this site apply their own payment and cancellation terms; this page’s Google Play billing provisions concern purchases made through Google Play.

9. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to mandatory applicable law, courts with competent jurisdiction in Hyderabad, Telangana, India will have jurisdiction over disputes arising from these terms.

If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections under the laws of your country of residence, including in the EEA or the UK, or restrict your right to bring a claim before a court or consumer forum available to you under those laws. It does not override the GPL’s terms for the licensed software.

10. Developer contact and grievances

For questions, complaints, subscription assistance, or grievances relating to Thor, contact:

For a grievance, use the email subject “Thor grievance” and describe the issue and the resolution you seek. Include the app version and, for a payment issue, your Google Play order ID if available. Send purchase details privately by email, not in the public issue tracker; do not send passwords or full card details.

The developer will review complaints and respond in accordance with applicable law. Contacting the developer does not prevent you from seeking help from Google Play or using a competent consumer authority, forum, or court.

11. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated to reflect changes to Thor, its support options, or legal requirements. Updates will appear on this page with a revised date. Where required by law, material changes will be notified and consent obtained. An update does not remove rights already granted under the GPL or change a Google Play billing agreement without the notices and consent required by Google Play and applicable law.
